You can see who Kokoro loves here: Kokoro's true love
Some of Kokoro's photos show her with her true love, obviously true love is sold separately...
The shadows were cool and comforting under the roof of branches overhead. Bushes in the little 'V' of nature that humans had kindly installed in the middle of an otherwise barren parking lot. Car lights, like bright glowing eyes swung across the bushes, shadows shifted and slid across Kokoro.
She didn't move, knowing that if she trusted her instincts, stayed as still as a stone that she was all but invisible to the human world.
They walked on by, to and from their cars, carts clattering and banging, voices high and excited as they talked into little boxes. They never noticed Kokoro, she had the gift of stillness, able to blend into the shadows, embrace the darkness under the branches and watch, with bright curious eyes, the world go by.
Not that she spent all her time in one little 'V' of human planted nature in a grocery store parking lot. She spent many happy hours, whiling away sunshiny days in the little park across the street. Wanting for nothing, cool water flowed in the stream, lavender and rosemary grew in abundance. Peppery nasturtiums clustered along the rolling banks that edged the neatly trimmed grass.
That she was not officially a wild bunny, did not hamper Kokoro's life in the outdoors. She did not remember being born, she only remembered tender grass, freshly cut so sharp and green she could all but taste it from one sniff.
And she remembered the day she fell in love.
Even now as the parking lot emptied, when the time grew closer, when the coast would be clear and she could hippity hop her way out under the golden street light, she wore her love like a cloak of warmth.
The feeling of being loved kept her company, knowing her soul mate was out there in the dark, waiting...waiting, just as she was, for the time to be perfect. When no prying eyes of curious humans would notice the gangly shape of Hubert ducking from around the trees, loping across the smooth cement to where Kokoro would wait. Heart beating wildly in her chest, love tickling her senses.
Though love is not unique their matching was. But Kokoro didn't care. She nor Hubert gave a damn about taboo. Not when they'd known, from that first glance across the moonlit washed park. Eyes meeting, the soft gentle gaze of a lonely giraffe catching Kokoro's own.
Love at first sight.
Kokoro wiggled her tail, any moment she would hear the tell tale footsteps, she would edge out from beneath the bushes...cautiously, of course. She would stare up..up...up into the grinning face of her beloved and she would wiggle her pink nose in greeting.
The night would embrace them. The unlikely couple, Kokoro the not-so tame rabbit and Hubert the giraffe.
